Apprenticeships for older people

Do Kaplan or any of the employers you work with seriously consider apprenticeship requests from adults or non-students? I ask because I am 25 years old and interested in an apprenticeship in accounting; I have sent my CV to some local employers and checked the apprenticeships.org site but not had any responses. Acording to the official government spin there is no age restriction on apprenticeships but when the funding dries up after 24yrs nobody seems interested.
