Sometimes it can be difficult to understand what’s expected of you when you start your first job, but with the Job Ready Programme, you’ll have an advantage over other candidates – the Job Ready programme is specially designed to help school and college leavers become better prepared for the workplace.

What will I learn?

These short courses are designed to give young people the skills employers are looking for but you wouldn’t necessarily learn at school or college. It's a combination of theory and practical skills, set in a simulated environment, providing essential skills needed for the workplace:

• Time management skills
• Business awareness
• Working as part of a team
• Effective communication – verbal and written
• Office protocol

At the end of the two week course you will receive an accredited qualification in employability skills awarded by EdExcel (BTEC Level 1 WorkSkills) meaning you can demonstrate to employers that you will be able to add value to their business.

The Job Ready Programme is now open to 16 - 24 year olds.
