Kaplan Apprenticeships

Progress your career in business and accountancy

Welcome back! Since my last blog entry I have managed to shortlist five applicants for the Kaplan Accountancy Scholarship. The five shortlisted applicants have been invited to our Leeds training centre for an interview on Thursday 25 March 2010. Alongside an interview, the students have been asked to give a short 10-minute presentation on what should hopefully be a relatively easy topic; themselves! The interview will be conducted by a panel which comprises me and HR representatives from a national accountancy firm.

It was gave me a great sense of overwhelming pride to offer the applicants an interview especially after the hard work they put in at telephone interview stage. I wish all of the students the best of luck at the interview and want to advise them not to be too nervous. I’m hoping the interview will be a relaxed environment and will give them an opportunity to shine.

I would also like to thank all the students who applied for scholarship and to remind them to submit their application forms for our prestigious Summer School. The Summer School is a fun, interactive and relaxed environment in which to learn more about AAT Apprenticeships and speak to local employers about working in business. It will also provide CV tips, interview techniques and show how to produce a CV covering letter that will grab the attention of any prospective employer.

Don’t forget – you will be awarded a Kaplan certificate which can be added to your National Record of Achievement which an employer will rate as a positive addition to your CV. We are already receiving great interest in our Summer School so it is advisable to submit those applications.

Log in again soon to get more information about our Scholarship and feedback from the interview panel.
