Hi all

It appears that many months have passed since I last submitted an entry to my blog (7 months, in fact).  I’m sure you’ve been eagerly awaiting the next instalment as eagerly as you were awaiting the latest smartphone to hit the market.

Many things have happened since my last entry.  The winners of the 2011 Kaplan Scholarship were announced in March 2011, they sat their A Levels, secured AAT Apprenticeship jobs and are busy working away in their new careers.  I realise that summarising the Kaplan Scholarship into one sentence makes it sound like an easy process but it was hard work for all concerned – but hard work that truly paid off.  It’s always a wonderful feeling to see the Kaplan Scholarship winners progress in fantastic roles with employers who remain ever supportive of their apprentices in their first step into the world of accounting.

The Kaplan Summer Schools took place in August 2011 and the feedback was as positive as ever.  For any current Year 11 or Year 13 students who want to find out more information about CV writing, interview skills, working in a professional environment, speaking to local employers and getting an good overall understanding of apprenticeships; then the Kaplan Summer School is definitely for you.  More information can be found on the Kaplan Apprenticeships website or by contacting me directly on brian.culleton@kaplan.co.uk

Our ‘Meet The Employer/Talent Spotting’ events are taking place in different locations around the country during the October half term break.  It’s a great way to meet with local employers and have a speed interview with them.  If this interests you, please look at the banner on the front page of the Kaplan Apprenticeships website.
