Kaplan Summer Business School........

Hi there, My name is Joey Harman and I am the apprentcieship coordinator for Kaplan Financial Reading and I  also look after the Kaplan Summer Business School.

In Reading this will be our 4th year of running The Kapaln Summer Business School and its always been amazingly popular (So popular in fact that we have always had to cap the numbers!) Last year we had 46 Year 12 students from across Berkshire come to the school

It lasts 3.5 days and we do things that we hope will help you get a better idea of the world of business & accountancy. We have a business game spread over the 3 days, we look at franchises, how to write a business plan and how to prepare a budget. We also invite in employers to run our sessions on CV writing & Interview techniques - this way you get to hear first hand what the employers are looking for!. It also allows you to see what employers are out there and how you might go about applying to them once you have left school. There will also be current accountancy students popping in to see you and tell you what its really like!

The Reading summer school is July 27-29, its absolutely free , all its costs is 3 days of your time. Lots of the other Kaplan centres run summer schools so look under the "summer school " tab and find out when your local one is on. There are no entry requirements other than you need to be in Year 12. You don't need to be doing Maths A level , or business studies or any particular course at all. I did sciences at A Level & have a degree in Biology!

There are lots of different routes in to business through an accounting qualification so come & find out more.Places are limited, so make sure you get your application form in soon
