Scholarships tips

HI everyone this is my first ever blog, I have been the Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Humber region which includes East Yorkshire, Hull , North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire for the last 3 years. Previously to that I worked for another Training Provider and developed their NVQ's from scratch in 1993 for engineering disciplines.

This is the 3rd year that we have run the scholarship programme with last years Grimsby scholarship winner about to complete his AAT Intermediate level this June.

We have just finished and selected our 5 final candidates for this years scholarships in both Hull and Grimsby with the employer's interviews on the 23rd and 25th March 2010. Again on the panel we have involved local companies from Smailes Goldie, Dutton Moore, Ideal Standard, Forrester Boyd, RNS Chartered, Youngs Seafoods and Smethhurst and Buckton.

To help candidates prepare for Interview my main tips are to fully inderstand the AAT route and also what you want to do after that be it ACCA, CIMA ,ICAEW or any of the other routes. You also need to think about what would you do if you did not win the scholarship, do you still want to do AAT and if so we can probably help you. Last year 3 out of the 5 interviewed actually started AAT with us.
