What are the entry requirements?

You must:

  • Be aged between 16 and 24
  • Have a job working at least 30hrs+. Kaplan will help you to find a job

You must not:

  • Have a degree, HND, Level 4 or equivalent
  • Be currently doing a course which is funded by another college

 

What can I expect from an Accountancy Apprenticeship?

As well as earning a wage (normally £98 - £170 per week), you’ll be entitled to paid holidays and gain experience of working in a real life office environment.

The type of tasks you’ll be doing include helping accountants to keep financial records and prepare accounts, learning how to balance accounts, process invoices, VAT returns and preparing financial reports.

What happens after I’ve completed my Apprenticeship?

Once you’ve completed your Apprenticeship, you’ll be a qualified Accounting Technician. This means you can apply for accounting jobs in a variety of roles and organisations, with a typical starting salary of £12,000 to £18,000*.

With an Accountancy (AAT) Apprenticeship, you’ll improve your future earning potential and career prospects as well getting to include a well-respected AAT qualification on your CV.

 

Progress with Kaplan onto further professional accountancy training

On successful completion and depending on the type of accountancy you want to you’ll also gain exemptions from certain units of the qualifications that you need to become a chartered accountant such as; ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or CIPFA.
