Home Group Ltd
Description
The job in a nutshell…
You help Home Group check that things are working as they should. This includes how services run, how processes are followed and how risks are managed. You learn on the job while completing a Level 4 Internal Audit Technician apprenticeship. With support from experienced colleagues, you build your understanding of audit, risk and
assurance, and start to take part in real audit work across the organisation.
What success will look like…
You are building your understanding of audit, risk and assurance by actively participating in audit reviews and applying what you learn through your apprenticeship. Over time, you become more confident in completing routine audit activities with support from experienced colleagues.
Information gathered during audits is accurate, organised and easy to follow because you take care when recording evidence, checking facts and highlighting any gaps or questions. This helps the team make evidence-based decisions and develop meaningful audit findings.
Your understanding of risk, controls and governance grows as you gain experience. You ask questions, explore how services operate and begin to identify potential issues, inconsistencies or opportunities for improvement.
Audit notes and working papers are clear, well organised and completed to a good standard because you follow agreed methodologies and use guidance effectively. This means others can understand the work completed and rely on the information provided.
You build positive working relationships across Home Group by being professional, approachable and respectful. You listen carefully, communicate clearly and take an interest in understanding different services and teams.
Confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately because you understand the importance of integrity, data protection and professional conduct. This helps maintain trust and confidence in the audit process.
Your apprenticeship progresses successfully because you actively participate in off-the-job learning and development opportunities. Completing apprenticeship requirements and apply new knowledge and skills in the workplace, seek feedback and take ownership of your development. As your confidence and capability grow, you take on increasing responsibility and require less day-to-day support
